His last victory came at Killarney on 12 May 2026, nearly three months ago. Before that he had to go back to March 2023 for his previous win at Thurles, a gap of more than three years that tells you how hard he has found it to get his head in front. Yet his recent form suggests he is not fading: in his last six races he has picked up a win, two second places, and a third, which points to a horse capable of competing at a decent level and threatening to win again soon.

Factual Fact is trained by Henry De Bromhead at Knockeen in County Waterford, a yard that has sent out 110 winners this season — a sign of a stable firing on all cylinders. De Bromhead has the class and the infrastructure to get the most out of his horses, and the fact that Factual Fact continues to race regularly and competitively suggests the trainer still sees something worth pursuing. At seven years old he is entering the later chapters of his racing life, but with recent form holding up, there could yet be another win or two in him before his career winds down.
