If you're looking for the version of Evoluir most likely to run well, normal ground is your best clue. Its two career wins came at Southwell in October 2024 and Wolverhampton in February 2025, both at Class 6, which is the entry-level tier of British racing. That's where Evoluir belongs for now, and to be fair, it has competed there almost exclusively — 2 wins from 30 races at that level.

The partnership with jockey Aiden Brookes is the most consistent thread through this horse's career. Together they've had 20 races and just 1 win — 5%, or roughly 1 in every 20 — which is a modest return, but 20 shared rides suggests a genuine, settled working relationship rather than a casual arrangement. Trainer Micky Hammond, based in Middleham in North Yorkshire, has sent out 25 winners this season, so the yard clearly knows what it's doing. Evoluir just hasn't been the one contributing to that tally lately.

The recent form — finishing 3rd, then 7th, 7th, 10th, 10th, and 6th going back further — shows a horse that had a brief moment of promise earlier in the year before fading. That third place is the only hint of encouragement across six runs without a win, and the last victory was 15 months ago. Evoluir raced just yesterday, so it's an active, busy horse, which at least suggests it's healthy and in work. Whether another win is coming is harder to say — but then again, not many people predicted the last two either.
