Together they have won 2 from 9 races — roughly 1 in every 4 — which is a noticeably better hit rate than the horse achieves with anyone else. When that combination clicks, things tend to go right. His trainer Neil Mulholland, based at Limpley Stoke in Wiltshire, has had a productive season — 60 winners sent out — so this is clearly a yard in good form, even if Elysian Knight himself hasn't contributed to that tally recently.

The last win came at Fontwell Park in late March 2025, and he hasn't been able to follow it up in the six races since, most recently finishing fourth. At Class 3 level — one step below the elite tier — he has run four times without winning, suggesting that grade might be just a touch beyond him on current evidence. What is interesting, though, is that Mulholland has bigger plans. Speaking late last year, he was enthusiastic about switching Elysian Knight to chasing — racing over fences rather than hurdles — describing him as a horse who has "got it written all over him." He reportedly jumped well in schooling, and Mulholland clearly believes there is more to come from him in a new discipline.

That kind of trainer confidence is worth something. Horses occasionally find a completely new lease of life when they switch codes, and the fact that Elysian Knight has been placed so consistently suggests a horse with genuine ability who may simply be waiting for the right conditions to unlock it. Raced just yesterday and still active, the next chapter looks like it could be over fences — and on Mulholland's word, that might be where this horse finally shows his best.
