Elysian Flame

The recent form reads 5-1-4-5 going back through the last four races, which is patchy at best. A fifth, then the winning run, then a fourth, then another fifth — there is no consistent thread here, just a horse that occasionally puts it all together. What is encouraging is that Elysian Flame raced just yesterday, so whatever energy produced that Beverley win, the team clearly feels there is more to come.

At ten years old, most horses are winding down, which makes staying active and competitive at this stage quietly impressive in its own right. Whether Beverley proves to be a happy hunting ground worth revisiting, or whether that win was a one-off peak, the next few races will tell the story.
