Her career got going at Down Royal in March 2025, and what followed gave trainer Henry De Bromhead real reason to take notice. The win that particularly caught the eye came at Punchestown in December, where she did it on ground that, by De Bromhead's own admission, wasn't ideal for her. Winning when conditions aren't in your favour is one of the better tests of a horse's genuine ability — it means she wasn't just flattered by a soft surface or a weak field. The form from that debut win has also held up well: one of the horses she beat that day went on to win impressively at Navan, which suggests the level she was competing at was the real thing.
After Punchestown, De Bromhead deliberately put her away and let her freshen up, with one clear target in mind: the Mares' Novices' Hurdle. That kind of patient, focused planning is the hallmark of a yard that knows what it has. De Bromhead's operation at Knockeen has sent out 107 winners this season alone — this is not a small stable throwing horses at whatever comes up. When a trainer of that calibre says a horse has a specific big-race target and doesn't need to run in the meantime, it usually means they like what they see at home.
She raced just yesterday and has two wins from her two races over hurdles. The Mares' Novices' Hurdle is one of the most coveted prizes available to horses of her type, and everything around Echoing Silence right now suggests she is being pointed at it with genuine belief rather than hope.
