He has spent his career in the care of Henry De Bromhead's Knockeen yard in County Waterford, one of the most successful training operations in Ireland and very much in form—the yard has sent out 110 winners already this season. Mark Enright, the regular jockey, has ridden him seven times, winning once. The horse is at his best when asked to stay on at longer distances. Over two miles and beyond, he has won 3 of 14 races—a respectable 21 percent win rate—showing that stamina suits him better than speed. More telling still is his record at Killarney, where he has won twice from just six visits. That kind of course form suggests he runs well there, and he last won at that track on 22 August, just over a year ago now.

Recent form shows a horse that is still racing and competitive. His last six runs have yielded a place and a win, with some moderate efforts mixed in, and he lined out just a day ago. For a seven-year-old in this game, continuing to race and the occasional win underfoot is respectable enough. Chutzpah will not set the world alight, but he is the sort of honest performer that keeps showing up to work and, every now and then, rewards the faith his yard puts in him.
