Chale Chalo

The most striking thing about Chale Chalo's record is how long it has been since that last victory. A win at Lingfield Park in early December was followed by eight months of racing without another success. The recent form reads 8-11-9-2-1-3, which tells a story of a horse capable of finishing close but struggling to get over the line. That third place three races ago, followed by a first-place finish and then a second, suggests something is working again—but the horse raced just yesterday and came ninth, so any momentum is fragile. These six recent races show a horse oscillating between decent form and disappointment, the kind of pattern that frustrates everyone involved.

Chale Chalo races most often in Class 4 races, the middle tier of British racing, where it has won once from six starts. Trained by Tom Dascombe at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, the horse is part of a yard that has had a decent season, sending out twenty-two winners so far. Dascombe clearly sees promise in the three-year-old: it was given its first career win at Ripon in August 2025, and it has been kept in training and racing regularly since then. Whether Chale Chalo can find another gear and turn those close finishes into more victories will define the rest of its season.
