More than four years have passed without another win, though he remains active — he raced just a day ago. His recent form has been frustratingly consistent without delivering the goods: his last six outings have yielded nothing better than a fourth place, mostly filled with mid-field finishes. He typically competes in Class 4 races, where he has won one of 12 starts (about 8 per cent), suggesting he runs best within that level but finds it tough even there.

Joanna Mason has been his most frequent partner, riding him in ten races, but that partnership has yet to yield a winner. Trained by Michael and David Easterby at their Sheriff Hutton yard in North Yorkshire — a powerful operation that has sent out 55 winners this season alone — Caselli remains a regular on the track despite his long drought.
