Call Time

Moore spotted it early. Back in the summer of 2024, before Call Time had even opened its account, the trainer was already flagging that the horse was ground-dependent and would want a bit of juice in the surface. He said publicly there was plenty more to come over six or seven furlongs on soft ground — and he was right. The first win duly arrived at Bath in October 2024, followed by a second at Chepstow in September 2025. That Chepstow victory is now nine months in the rear-view mirror, and the horse has gone six races without winning since, with a recent run of finishes reading 3-4-6-3-5-10. Nothing there to set the pulse racing, but it is worth noting that third-place finishes do feature — this is a horse that competes, it just needs the stars to align.

The majority of its career has been spent in Class 5 races, which are the bread-and-butter, workaday end of the sport. At that level it has won just 1 of 12, so it is not a dominant force even in modest company. Regular partner Taylor Fisher has been in the saddle for 6 of its races together, winning once — roughly 1 in 6 — which reflects the horse's overall profile. The yard itself is in reasonable form, having sent out 17 winners this season, so the infrastructure is there. Call Time is 43 days off a short break, which hints at a specific target being plotted. The key, as ever, will be the weather forecast.
