Amancio

Trained by Faye Bramley out of Lambourn, Amancio opened his winning account at Haydock Park in April 2024 and has been a useful, dependable string to Bramley's bow ever since. The yard has sent out 19 winners this season alone, and Amancio has contributed to that tally, last winning at Sedgefield in November 2025. His trainer knows him well enough to have noted, before that win, that he'd been beaten just half a length by Tipsy Tiger at Sandown — the kind of near-miss that sums up a career spent knocking on the door.

Where Amancio really comes alive is on wet or muddy ground. In those conditions he wins 2 from 7 races — nearly 1 in 3 — compared to his overall rate of 4 from 26, which is roughly 1 in every 6 or 7. That jump is significant. Many horses tolerate soft ground; Amancio actively thrives on it. Pair that with a trip of two miles or more and the numbers improve further still: 2 wins from 6 races at those distances, a rate of 33%, or 1 in 3. He is a horse that needs to be asked a real question of stamina to show his best.

His recent form reads 3-5-1-2-5-1 — two wins sandwiched around a couple of mid-pack efforts — and he raced just yesterday, so he is clearly in the thick of a busy campaign. Most of his races have come at Class 4 level, the solid mid-tier of British racing, where he wins roughly 1 in every 5 or 6 attempts. Bramley has spoken about aiming to get another win into him before a potential move to the sales, which gives his next few races an added edge. He is a horse whose story may be nearing a chapter break — and that tends to concentrate minds in the yard.
