The most interesting thing about Acclamation Star right now is the inconsistency in recent form. Over the last five races, the horse has shown flashes of quality — that win at Bath, followed by a second place — but has since struggled to replicate that, finishing seventh, tenth, and sixth in the three runs since. It raced just yesterday, which suggests James Owen's Newmarket yard is keeping the horse active and looking for the right opportunities. Owen trains a high-volume operation, with 205 winners sent out this season, so Acclamation Star is part of a yard that knows how to get horses to the winning post. The three-month gap between that May win and the recent run last week suggests the trainer may have given the horse time to develop, which is common with young animals still maturing. At this stage, Acclamation Star looks like a horse with ability but still some way to go before settling into consistent form.
