What that actually means is that Crosby is at the very beginning of his journey as a trainer. Every yard that now produces champions started with a single runner, and one result tells you almost nothing about what is to come. Whether he builds a string of ten horses or a hundred, whether he specialises in a particular type of race or a particular track — all of that is still to be written. For now, he is simply someone who has just started, and the only honest thing to say is that it is far too early to draw any conclusions at all.
