Shane Gallagher

The most notable feature of his early career is his ongoing partnership with Carrickfinn, a horse he has run twelve times without success. That is a lot of racing together, and while the winner's enclosure has so far proved elusive, the sheer number of runs suggests Gallagher believes in the horse and is patient enough to keep searching for the right opportunity. In training, persistence is often the difference between a horse that eventually clicks and one that never does.

It is simply too early to draw firm conclusions about Gallagher as a trainer. Every yard that is now sending out winners at the top level started somewhere, and right now he is at the very beginning of that journey.
