The most notable thread running through her career to date is her partnership with Jackhammer, who accounts for all six of those runs. When one horse represents your entire operation, everything rises or falls with it — and right now, that horse hasn't managed to get its nose in front across any of those six outings. That's a frustrating run for any small yard, but six races is also a relatively short sample. Plenty of trainers took longer than that to open their account.

There isn't enough on the board yet to draw firm conclusions about what kind of trainer Slack is or where her strengths might lie. What is clear is that she is three years in, still active, and still sending horses out to race. In a sport where small operations quietly disappear all the time, that persistence counts for something. The first winner, when it comes, will be worth watching for.
