What we do know is that the breeding is seriously good. Zaydann is by Dubawi, one of the most celebrated stallions in the world and a sire whose offspring have won at the very highest level across Europe and beyond. The mother's side carries the influence of Siyouni, another high-class stallion with a strong record of producing horses that develop and improve with racing. In short, Zaydann was bred to be a racehorse — and a good one at that.
The trainer is F-H Graffard, operating out of France, and the yard has already sent out six winners this season. That is a team in form, and debut runners from a yard hitting its stride tend to arrive at the track fit, ready, and knowing their job. Graffard will have had plenty of time to see what this horse can do at home, even if the rest of us are only just getting our first look.
