The recent form figures — 15, 8, 14, 5, 11, 16 — tell a story of inconsistency rather than steady improvement. The run that produced eighth place shows there is some ability in there, but the horse has not been able to reproduce it, and finishes deep in the field have been more common than not. Racing just yesterday, Zammawar is clearly an active project, and the team around the horse have not given up on finding the right opportunity.
That team is trained by Jarlath P Fahey, operating out of Monasterevin in County Kildare. It is a yard that has sent out three winners this season, so the operation knows how to get a horse into the winner's enclosure. The question is whether Zammawar can be the next one to get there. Right now, that feels like a project still very much in progress.
