Yup Bro

What makes this slightly puzzling is where Yup Bro calls home. The yard at Stamullen, Co Meath, run by John C McConnell, has sent out 42 winners already this season — that is a stable in form, a team that clearly knows how to get a horse ready to win. When a trainer is firing in winners at that rate, it tends to shine a light on any horse in the yard that isn't quite keeping pace. Yup Bro, for now, is one of those horses.

Raced just yesterday and still very much an active runner, there is at least the sense that the team has not given up on finding the right opportunity. At four years old, there is still time for things to change. But until Yup Bro starts turning those double-figure finishes into something more competitive, it remains a horse searching for its moment rather than one that has found it.
