The colt made a winning debut at Southwell on 16 August, then came back a month later to win again at Newcastle just this week on 2 September. Between those two victories came a second-place finish, so Yordan is proving it can handle back-to-back racing and has the temperament to bounce back from a close defeat. That second place, bracketed between two wins, suggests this is a horse with real staying power and consistency rather than a one-race wonder.
Kevin Ryan's Hambleton yard has been firing this season, sending out 45 winners, and Yordan looks to be one of the trainer's better prospects at the moment. With only three races under its belt and already two wins to its name, there is plainly a lot more to come from this one.
