What does work in Yasalam's favour is the address. Archie Watson's yard at Upper Lambourn has sent out 63 winners already this season, which marks it as one of the more productive operations around right now — a stable that clearly knows how to get horses ready to win. Being trained somewhere that fires in winners at that kind of volume means Yasalam is at least in the right hands, even if the results haven't come yet. Watson has a reputation for patient improvement, and a three-year-old with only three races under its belt is still very much a work in progress.

Whether better form is around the corner is genuinely hard to say at this stage. Three races is a small sample, and plenty of horses take time to click. For now, Yasalam is one to keep an eye on rather than one to back — a horse whose most interesting chapter may still be ahead of it.
