Woodhay Wayfarer

The recent form tells the story of a young horse still finding its feet. After winning at Newmarket, Woodhay Wayfarer finished fifth on its next outing, then eighth most recently, just one day ago. That kind of up-and-down pattern is not unusual in a two-year-old still learning the trade, but it also shows the horse has work to do before it can be relied upon to deliver consistently. The win itself, though, came at a respected track and proved the horse belongs in competitive company.

Trainer T Ward, based at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, has had a productive season with fourteen winners already from the yard, so Woodhay Wayfarer is operating within an outfit that knows how to get horses to the track in winning form. With the horse still active and racing regularly, there is time yet for it to build on that first career win and show whether the victory at Newmarket was a sign of things to come or a flash in the pan.
