Her trainer Tracy Waggott, who runs a busy yard out of Spennymoor in County Durham and has sent out ten winners already this season, explains exactly why Musselburgh clicks for this horse. Without Delay needs a mile but she needs a bend with it — the combination of a sweeping, curved track and quick, firm ground is what unlocks her best form. That rules out certain tracks almost entirely, which limits her options, but it also means that when the conditions align, the team knows exactly what they have. She won twice at Musselburgh last season and heads back there as a horse with something to prove: she has not won in her last six races, with her most recent victory coming at Catterick in July 2025.

The encouraging detail is that Waggott believes her handicap mark — currently 56 — is back to a level she has already won off twice before. That is a concrete reason for optimism rather than wishful thinking. With regular jockey William Pyle in the saddle — he has ridden her to 2 wins from 14 attempts, winning roughly 1 in 7 — and fast ground at Musselburgh on the horizon, Without Delay looks primed for another day in the sun.
