Wild Act

Trained by Dean Ivory at his yard in Radlett, Hertfordshire, Wild Act is at least in the hands of a trainer in decent nick right now. Ivory's team has sent out 7 winners already this season, which suggests the yard is ticking over well and horses are running in good order. For Wild Act, that matters — a horse finding its feet needs a stable firing on all cylinders around it.

At 3 years old and with only four races under its belt, it would be wrong to write Wild Act off. Some horses take time to figure out what racing is actually about, and the step from that third place to a first win is a smaller one than the form figures might suggest. The key question is whether it can reproduce that better effort consistently, or whether that placed run was the exception rather than the rule. Right now, punters would need a leap of faith — but with the yard in form and a young horse still learning its trade, the first win might not be too far away.
