Her recent form tells an interesting story. She finished third twice on the bounce before a poor run, then bounced back to fourth most recently — and she raced just yesterday, which tells you the team thinks she's in decent enough shape to keep busy. Jockey Andrew Mullen has stuck with her through ten of those races without a win, which is either a sign of loyalty or a sign that everyone involved believes the breakthrough is close. Probably both.

Trainer Iain Jardine, who operates out of Carrutherstown in Dumfries and Galloway, is no stranger to winners — his yard has sent out 57 of them this season alone, so he clearly knows how to get a horse ready to win. He's spoken warmly about this one, noting she ran a solid third at Thirsk after showing a bit of greenness early on, pulling too hard before it caught up with her late in the race. That's a common story with horses still learning their job. More encouragingly, Jardine thinks she handles a bit of cut in the ground and — crucially — felt she coped well stepping up to a mile for the first time. Finding a trip that suits can be the unlock a horse needs.

She's spent most of her career in Class 4 races — the bread and butter of British racing, a level below the top tier — and hasn't won any of her nine starts at that level. But zero wins from nine at Class 4 with five career places overall isn't a horse who's lost — it's a horse who's still searching. Jardine himself said he expects her to be winning before too long. Given the evidence that she's placing regularly and that the yard are clearly still excited about her, that might not be as far away as the record suggests.
