The recent form tells a story of gradual decline rather than a horse on the cusp of breaking through. Those finishing positions — 4, 4, 5, 5, 13, 8 reading from oldest to most recent — show a horse that was at least running respectably in the middle of the pack earlier in that sequence, but has since drifted toward the back. Finishing fourth twice might sound promising, but without converting any of those chances into a win, it starts to look more like a ceiling than a stepping stone.
Gary Carroll, who has ridden Wegotether in five of those nine races, hasn't been able to find the combination that unlocks a win either — five rides together and still waiting. That said, the blame rarely sits with a jockey alone, and Carroll is a capable rider by any measure.
The one reason to stay interested is the yard behind the horse. Gavin Cromwell's operation, based in Navan in County Meath, has sent out 97 winners already this season — that's a training team in seriously good form, one that clearly knows how to place horses to their best advantage. If anyone can find the right race at the right time for Wegotogether, it's a yard running this hot. The horse raced just a day ago, so it's clearly fit and active, and presumably Cromwell has a plan. Whether Wegotogether can finally deliver on it remains the open question.
