The real story is in Wateera's recent form. Over the last month, the horse has run three times and placed in two of them, sandwiched around a win at Wetherby on 4 June. That victory came two months ago, and since then Wateera has had a second and a third, which tells you the horse is still competitive and still improving. Wateera raced just a day ago, so it is clearly an active, hard-working prospect in the yard of K R Burke at Coverham in North Yorkshire. Burke's stable has already sent out 145 winners this season, so Wateera is in a yard that knows how to get the best from its young horses. For a two-year-old still finding its feet, this horse is doing exactly what the yard want to see: turning up, running well, and winning when the opportunity comes.
