Walt's breeding hints at what to expect once he does get going. His father, Persian Force, was one of the fastest two-year-olds in Europe during his racing career, a genuine sprinting talent who excelled over short distances at high speed. His mother's side comes through Equiano, another sprinter of real quality. Put those two together and you have a horse bred almost exclusively to be quick — Walt looks purpose-built for sharp, fast races over the minimum distances. Whether that breeding translates to the track is the question every debut runner carries with them, but the raw material is there.
First-time runners are always a gamble to assess, but Walt ticks a couple of the boxes that matter most: a trainer in form and a pedigree that at least tells a clear story about what he might be good at. The racecourse will do the rest of the talking.
