The most recent of those two wins came at Stratford-on-Avon in July 2025, which means he went roughly ten months without winning before that — and hasn't won in the six races since. That kind of pattern is typical of a horse at this level: competitive enough to keep the yard hopeful, just not quite sharp enough to win with any regularity. He raced just yesterday, so he is very much in active training and his team at Rebecca Menzies's yard in Morden, Durham clearly believe there is another win in him yet. Menzies has been in fine form this season, sending out 36 winners, so the yard knows how to get a horse ready.

The numbers do point to some genuine preferences worth noting. On normal ground conditions, Victory Club has won 2 of his 13 races — a 15% win rate — which is actually a touch better than his overall record suggests, meaning wet or muddy days are best avoided. He also seems to find his best form over the longer trips, between a mile and six furlongs and two miles, winning 1 from 6 at those distances (17%). For a horse of his age and experience, having a clear sweet spot like that is useful — it means his team know when to aim him.

Regular jockey Ben Poste has yet to ride him to a winner in six attempts together, which is one of those partnerships that keeps coming up without quite delivering the result both would want. That said, with Rebecca Menzies in a productive run of form and a horse who clearly still has the appetite to race — out on the track as recently as yesterday — Victory Club looks like a horse chasing one more moment in the winner's enclosure before his racing days are done.
