Venetian Power

The horse's recent form tells a story of inconsistency. After winning at Killarney, Venetian Power came back to the track just days later and finished fourth. It then bounced back with a place finish in its most recent outing, just yesterday. That pattern — win, then fade, then improve again — is typical of young horses still finding their feet, and at only three career races it is far too early to draw firm conclusions about where Venetian Power belongs.

Venetian Power is trained by J P O'Brien at Owning Hill in County Kilkenny. The yard is having an excellent season with 160 winners already on the board, which suggests a stable operation with good horses moving through it. Whether Venetian Power develops into a genuine prospect or remains a modest performer will depend on whether it can string together consistent runs and begin to win at other tracks. For now, it is a young horse with one clear strength — Killarney suits it — and plenty of racing ahead to prove itself.
