Uniter

Uniter operates mainly at Class 4, which is a solid mid-tier level — not the basement of the sport, but not the glamour end either. So far it has raced three times at that level without winning once, which means it has yet to prove it belongs there on a results basis. Whether that changes depends on finding a race that suits, or perhaps a surface or trip that unlocks something the form figures have not yet hinted at.

The horse is trained by Denis Coakley at West Ilsley in Berkshire, a yard that has been in decent form this season with 10 winners. The fact that the yard is producing winners elsewhere suggests this is a horse-specific puzzle rather than a wider problem at the stable. Coakley will be well aware of what Uniter needs — the question is whether the right opportunity presents itself soon. With the horse having raced just yesterday, something is clearly being tried, and the team have not given up on finding a way through.
