Clare Hobson, who trains out of Royston in Hertfordshire, has sent out 3 winners this season and clearly believes there is more to come from this horse. United Force almost exclusively competes at Class 6, which is the entry level of British racing — the bread-and-butter end of the sport where most runners are modest horses trying to find their level. Three wins from 26 races at that grade, a win rate of about 1 in every 9 attempts, shows it belongs there but has to find everything right to get to the front.

The jockey connection worth noting is Marco Ghiani, who has ridden United Force in 9 races and won twice — that works out to winning roughly 1 in every 4 and a half races together, or 22%, which is a notably better return than the horse manages overall. When Ghiani is in the saddle, United Force simply performs better. Whether that is down to how he rides the horse, timing, or a combination of both is hard to say, but the numbers make a clear case. United Force started its winning career at Leicester in April 2023 and its best recent day came at Southwell — an all-weather track that suits consistent, straightforward types. Getting back to winning ways will require things to click again, but this is a horse that has done it before and, with a race just yesterday, is clearly being kept fit and ready for another go.
