Two B Tanned

The career record reads six wins and eight places from 17 races, a win rate of around 35%, or roughly 1 in every 3 races entered. That is a strong return at any level. But the really striking detail is what has happened lately. Five wins from her last six races is the kind of sequence that turns heads, and it only makes sense when you understand two things: her preferred conditions, and the partnership she has found with jockey Joe Fanning. On normal ground — not too wet, not too firm — she has won 5 of 9 races, a 56% win rate. That is extraordinary. More than half the time she races on the ground she likes, she wins. And over her best trip of a mile and one or two furlongs, she has won 6 of 10, or 60% of her races. She is a horse who knows exactly what suits her, and the yard has been clever enough to keep putting her in those situations.

Fanning is central to the story. Together they have won 4 of their 5 races — an 80% win rate, which is frankly astonishing. Camacho's stable tour comments hint at why: Two B Tanned has a high cruising speed and Fanning is exceptional at front-running, which allows the horse to dictate the pace and make life very difficult for rivals. That combination of ability and tactical clarity is rare to find, and it explains why a horse running at Class 4 level — broadly the fourth tier of British racing — has been able to dominate so thoroughly.

Camacho has been refreshingly straightforward about the plan: no grand targets, no big occasion being chased. The aim is to find small fields where Two B Tanned can get to the front and do what she does. With 46 winners sent out by the yard this season already, this is clearly a team that knows how to place a horse to win, and Two B Tanned is their most vivid example right now. She raced just one day ago and is very much an active story. Whatever comes next, this is a horse worth watching.
