Trubshaw

Those two wins have both come in the last six months, which matters. A first career victory arrived at Sligo in August 2025, and then Trubshaw stepped things up to win at The Curragh in October — a considerably bigger stage. The Curragh is Ireland's most prestigious flat track, the place where the country's best horses run, so winning there as a young horse is a meaningful data point, not just a line on a form sheet. The recent run of results — placing eighth, then winning, then fourth, then sixth, then winning, then second — shows a horse that is not entirely consistent but is clearly capable of producing its best when conditions align.

Jockey Gabriella Hill has been along for much of this journey, riding Trubshaw in 6 of its 11 races and partnering the horse for both wins. That 2-from-6 record together, winning 1 in every 3 rides, is a meaningful partnership — horse and rider clearly understand each other. Behind them is the operation of Henry De Bromhead, one of Ireland's most accomplished trainers, based at Knockeen in County Waterford. His yard has sent out 107 winners already this season, which puts the scale of the operation into context — Trubshaw is one piece of a very large, very successful puzzle.
