Ridden most often by G B Noonan, the partnership has produced no wins from six races together, which suggests the pairing may not be quite the right fit — or simply that opportunities have been hard to come by. Tropical Image is trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy at Athea in Co. Limerick, a yard that has sent out fifteen winners this season, so the stable is clearly capable of getting horses to the winner's enclosure. The fact that Tropical Image has managed only one win in twenty attempts suggests the horse may have found its level in races where competition is stiff and margins are narrow. At nine years old and still racing — the horse was out just a day ago — there is clearly belief that another day might come. For now, though, Tropical Image remains one of those honest campaigners you see in the racing programme week after week, hoping the next race might be the one.
