Trishuli River

Dundalk is an all-weather indoor track in County Louth, one of the quirkier venues in Irish racing, and Trishuli River has been making it its own since a first win there back in November 2023. The most recent victory came on 12 December 2025, just five months ago, and the horse is still very much active — it ran just yesterday. The recent form reads a little unevenly, with a couple of mid-pack finishes either side of a win and a runner-up spot, but a horse that finishes in the top three in 16 of its 28 races is one that consistently shows up, even when it does not win.

On ground conditions, Trishuli River is a creature of habit — it has won all four races on normal ground, going 4 from 18 at that level, which works out at roughly 1 in every 4 or 5 races. That 22% win rate on a standard surface is a meaningful step up from its career average, and it tells you something straightforward: keep it away from the extremes and it performs. Distance-wise, the sweet spot sits at a mile and three to a mile and four furlongs, where it has won 2 of its 9 races at that trip — again, around 1 in 5.

Wayne Hassett is the jockey who gets the best out of it. In seven races together, they have won twice — that is a 29% win rate, nearly 1 in 3, which is a genuinely strong partnership by any measure. Hassett clearly understands how this horse operates. The trainer, Shane Crawley, has had 2 winners from his yard this season — a relatively quiet campaign so far, but Trishuli River has already provided at least some of the highlights. When this horse turns up at Dundalk on good ground with Hassett in the saddle, it is worth paying attention.
