Trained by Sheila Lewis out of Brecon in Powys, Triple Haych competes at Class 4 level — the middle tier of British racing, not the very top but not the entry level either. Lewis has sent out five winners from her yard this season, so the operation clearly knows how to get a horse to the line first. The question is whether Triple Haych can find a way to contribute to that tally. With no wins from three races at that class, it has not yet cracked the code, but the fact that the team keep running it suggests they believe there is something to work with.
At seven years old, Triple Haych is not a youngster still learning the ropes. Most horses at this stage have found their level and know what is expected of them. Whether a drop in class, a different track, or a change in conditions might unlock something better remains to be seen — but for now, the record is what it is, and any improvement would be a welcome surprise.
