Thisistheway

Trained by Yvonne Latta out of Enniscorthy in County Wexford, Thisistheway is a seven-year-old now well into the prime years of a racing career. Latta's yard has sent out 2 winners this season, so this is a small, focused operation rather than a factory — every runner matters, and Thisistheway is clearly one of the yard's mainstays. The horse's first win came at Wexford back in August 2023, fitting neatly given the home-county connection, and the most recent success arrived at Punchestown in April 2025 — one of Ireland's most celebrated tracks, which gives that win a bit of extra shine.

The recent form is where things get interesting. Reading the last six races from most recent back — a non-finish, another non-finish, then second, third, fifth, and that Punchestown win — there's a dip in form worth noting. The two latest outings ended without completing, which is always a flag. That said, the horse raced just one day ago, so the yard are clearly keeping faith and sending it out regularly. Whether the horse is working its way back to its best or is fully wound up is the question hovering over the next run.

What Thisistheway represents, really, is a consistent, honest racehorse operating at a level where each win is earned rather than gifted.
