Thilos

The recent form makes for sobering reading. Going back through the last six races, Thilos has finished sixth, third, pulled up or was withdrawn at some point, then ninth, sixth, and twelfth. That third-place finish is the one flicker of promise in an otherwise difficult run, but either side of it the results drop away sharply. Finishing ninth and twelfth suggests days when things have gone badly wrong, not just unluckily.

Thilos is trained by J A Nash at The Curragh in County Kildare, one of Irish racing's most storied training centres. The yard has managed just one winner so far this season, which is a modest return and worth keeping in mind — this is not a stable currently firing on all cylinders. Thilos raced just one day ago, so it is very much an active runner, but with no win to its name across ten attempts, patience from everyone involved is clearly being tested.

At four years old, there is still time to turn things around, but the window is not endless. Horses that have not won by this stage often find their opportunities becoming more limited rather than more plentiful. For Thilos, the next few races feel genuinely significant — not just for the record books, but for the question of where this horse goes from here.
