Trained by David O'Meara at Upper Helmsley in North Yorkshire — a yard that has sent out 107 winners already this season — Theoryofeverything has spent most of his career competing at Class 2 level, among the better horses in Britain. That context matters: winning 1 from 15 at that level (7%) sounds modest, but just being competitive in those races week after week tells you this is a horse of genuine quality. The standout moment came at Ascot in September 2024, where he landed a Class 2 victory on soft ground — one of the top races in Britain, on precisely the kind of track he loves. O'Meara has since noted that his horse's work heading into this season has looked even sharper than it did before that Ascot win, and that ground conditions will again be the decisive factor.
His most recent win came at Ayr in July 2025, where jockey Danny Tudhope pointed out that Theoryofeverything was carrying a significant weight advantage over younger horses and still had to work for it — making it a more admirable effort than the result alone suggests. Tudhope also remarked that the horse seemed to have genuinely matured, describing him as sharper and hinting there could be more to come. It is worth noting that his bloodline runs deep: his mother won a prestigious fillies' race at Ascot on soft ground, and his first jockey Robert Havlin drew that comparison after his debut win at Doncaster in April 2023, adding pointedly that he hoped it would not prove to be his ceiling.
Six races without a win since that Ayr success is a concern, and his recent finishing positions — fifth, eleventh, eighth, tenth, fifth, and second — suggest a horse searching for something. That something is almost certainly rain. Regular partner Jason Watson has yet to win aboard him in six attempts together, which is a minor puzzle worth watching. But with O'Meara's yard in full flow and wet weather always one forecast away, the conditions Theoryofeverything needs could arrive any day.
