The Old Brigade

The Old Brigade is a five-year-old making his racecourse debut, which is unusually late in life for a horse to step onto the track. By the stallion Westerner and out of a mare by Milan, he comes from decent enough breeding, but has no prior form to speak of — this will be his first real test under racing conditions. Whether he has been targeted for a specific type of race, kept back for maturity, or simply held in reserve until now, only his the yard will know. What matters now is how he runs.
