That August win at Gowran Park is now 33 months in the past, which is a long time in racing terms. Since then, The Fog Horn has gone six races without troubling the winner's enclosure, and the recent form figures of 8-7-9-12-12-15 tell their own story: these are finishes well down the field, not near-misses. The horse raced just yesterday, so it is clearly still active, but the form is pointing in the wrong direction.

The combination works best over seven furlongs to a mile, where the horse has recorded both of its wins from 11 races at those distances — an 18% win rate, or nearly 1 in every 5 races. That is a noticeably better return than its overall figures suggest, which tells you the trip matters. Get the distance wrong and The Fog Horn tends to go missing. Get it right, at the right track, and there is clearly something there — even if it has been a while since anyone has seen it.
