His first win came at Ripon in August 2022, and the relief in the trainer's voice afterwards was palpable. There had been a rough run before it — literally. With a race just yesterday, Thankuappreciate is very much in active campaign. He competes most often at Class 4, which is solid mid-tier racing rather than the top level, and that is an honest reflection of where he belongs. He is not a headline horse — but he is exactly the kind of tough, reliable competitor that makes up the backbone of British racing.
