Tellmemamema

Trained by Edward Buckley out of Ratoath in County Meath, Tellmemamema raced just yesterday, so at least nobody can accuse the team of wrapping this horse in cotton wool. Buckley's yard has sent out five winners this season, which shows the operation is capable of finding the right opportunities — the challenge now is finding one that suits this particular horse a little better. With finishing positions drifting from fourth all the way out to eleventh before nudging back to eighth most recently, there is no obvious upward trend to point to, though the yard will be hoping that last outing represents the beginning of a turnaround rather than just a blip.

At six years old, Tellmemamema is not a youngster still finding its feet — this is a horse that needs to start converting experience into results. Four races is still a relatively small sample, and stranger things have happened than a horse clicking into gear after a slow start. For now, though, supporters will need patience.
