Telfy Boy

Trained by Martin Dunne at Newmarket, Telfy Boy has been active recently—he raced just yesterday, finishing 13th. His form over his last six outings has been inconsistent: a couple of mid-field efforts mixed with two runs where he finished fourth and fifth, suggesting he can run respectably on some days but lacks the consistency or finishing kick needed to get his head in front. His single place finish hints that he is capable of running into the money, yet converting that promise into a win has eluded him so far. In the three races he has contested at Class 5 level—the most straightforward races available—he has failed to win any of them, indicating this may be a suitable grade for him but he has yet to produce on the day. Dunne's yard is in good form with 20 winners sent out this season, so there is competent horsemanship behind him, though Telfy Boy himself remains a work in progress at this stage of his three-year-old career.
