On normal ground conditions, the same story repeats: three wins from six attempts, a 50% win rate that tells you this horse performs best when conditions don't complicate things. Soft or heavy ground, fast dry ground — neither suits it as well.

Colin Keane, Tatum's regular jockey, hasn't yet found the winning formula aboard: they have ridden together five times without a victory. That stat is less a criticism of either party and more a puzzle waiting to be solved. Meade's yard has been in fine form this season, sending out forty-two winners, and Tatum's recent Leopardstown win suggests it is running well enough to be competitive. For a horse that struggles outside its comfort zone but excels when the conditions align, the next move will likely be another trip to Leopardstown — the one place Tatum genuinely belongs.
