Dods only had two runners there that week, and Tatterstall delivered. A sharp, fast 5-furlong race on dry ground is exactly his conditions, and his trainer has been clear that wet or muddy ground simply does not suit him, which limits the options through the autumn and winter months. Before Goodwood he had already shown he could win at Wolverhampton, Catterick, and Epsom — a varied record that speaks to a horse who travels well and handles different tracks.

The last couple of runs have not been at their best, but he raced just one day ago and remains very much in training.
