Talk In The Park

The one positive in the form is that Talk In The Park clearly likes normal ground. On dry, standard conditions, the horse has won 2 of its 8 races — a 25% win rate — which is genuinely respectable and suggests there are days when it can compete. The more challenging surfaces or extremes don't suit it so well, which narrows the opportunities but at least points to a track condition worth watching for.

Danny Mullins has been the regular rider in recent times, but that partnership hasn't clicked. The two have raced together six times with no wins, which suggests the horse may need a change of approach or simply that another jockey might suit it better. Trainer Ross O'Sullivan, based at Kilcullen, has had a decent season with 40 winners from the yard, so there is some form around the stable — but Talk In The Park hasn't been the one to benefit. At this stage, with no win in nearly two years and at an age where horses tend to know their level, Talk In The Park is what it is: a battler who shows up, runs respectably now and then, and occasionally picks up a place, but is unlikely to trouble the scorers often again.
