The most recent six races tell a mixed story. A third-place finish a day ago was followed by a fourth, then another third, a sixth, an eleventh, and a seventh. That pattern of inconsistency is the real issue here: a horse that can run well enough to place sometimes but then disappears entirely in other races, which suggests either the surface, the distance, or the level of opposition is making a significant difference. Without a win from 9 races, Symphony Of Joy remains winless, and at this stage of a career that is now four years in, the window for turning things around is narrowing.
Kevin and Lauren Frost train the horse at Averham Park in Nottinghamshire. Their yard has sent out three winners this season, so it is not without form, and that might offer some hope that the training is sound and the horse simply needs the right opportunity. For now, Symphony Of Joy remains a work in progress — a horse with glimpses of ability that has yet to deliver the goods.
