Sweet Cicely

Recent form has been inconsistent. In the last six races, the horse has finished as low as tenth and ninth, with a couple of mid-field efforts (a fourth and a sixth) mixed in. Just one day ago Sweet Cicely was back on the track, suggesting the horse remains active and in regular work with trainer Mike Sowersby at Little Barugh in North Yorkshire. Sowersby's yard has managed eight winners this season, so there is at least some success to draw from the stable, though Sweet Cicely plainly has not been part of that winning group. At this stage—25 races with no victories—it seems unlikely that breakthrough is imminent, but the horse keeps running and keeps getting chances. That alone says something about the yard's faith, or at minimum their willingness to keep trying.
