The overall numbers are fairly typical for a horse operating at this level: a win rate of around 1 in every 7 races, and almost exclusively competing in Class 6, which is the entry-level tier of British racing. But within those broad figures, there are some genuinely interesting patterns. On normal ground, Sunset In Paris wins nearly 1 in every 4 races — 6 wins from 26 outings — suggesting it is a horse that finds its best form when conditions are neither too firm nor too soft. Put it on anything tricky and the performance tends to drop off noticeably.

The most striking number, though, is at Wolverhampton. Two wins from just four visits — that is an extraordinary hit rate of 1 in 2. Most horses spend careers without finding a track that suits them so clearly. Wolverhampton is an all-weather, floodlit oval with a distinctive shape that catches some horses out and suits others down to the ground. Sunset In Paris clearly belongs in the second group, and its most recent win came there as recently as June 2025, so this is not ancient history.

Jockey Paddy Bradley is also worth noting. In nine races together, the pair have won 3 times — that is 1 win in every 3 rides, a partnership that looks genuinely productive compared to the horse's overall average. When Bradley is in the saddle at a track like Wolverhampton, the yard — sorry, the team — will have good reasons to be optimistic.

The recent form is patchy. Six races without a win, and the last couple of efforts particularly quiet. At 8 years old, Sunset In Paris is not getting younger, and the gap since that last win is creeping towards a year. But with J R Jenkins sending out 7 winners already this season, the yard is in decent enough form. If Sunset In Paris turns up at Wolverhampton on normal ground with Bradley on board, it would be unwise to write it off entirely.
