Sun Path

The horse is trained by Marcus Tregoning, whose yard has sent out 4 winners this season — a modest but real haul that shows the operation is capable of getting horses to win. Sun Path, however, has not yet been one of them. Tregoning is a respected name in racing, which means the horse is at least in professional hands, but at some point a first win needs to materialise for the partnership to have something to build on.

What is worth noting is that Sun Path raced just one day ago, so this is a horse that is very much active and still being given opportunities. At three years old, there is time on its side — plenty of horses take a while to find their feet, and some only click into gear once the right conditions come along. But five blank runs is five blank runs, and the immediate task is simply finding a race where Sun Path can get competitive rather than trailing home in mid-pack or worse.
